1 The Spain is a bed and breakfast run by Sophie Davey from an eighteenth-century townhouse a short walk from Petersfield's station and market square. Guests have their own front door, separate from the main house, opening onto a private sitting room, kitchenette and two bedrooms, a double and a twin, kept apart from Davey's own accommodation. Breakfast is cooked to order, with a full English alongside lighter and dietary options, and can be taken in the guests' sitting room. Beyond the front door lies a walled garden, a legacy of the house's Georgian layout, where guests can sit before setting off to explore the South Downs National Park on the town's doorstep. Bookings are taken by email only, and the house stays open throughout the year, making it a base for walkers as much as visitors to the town.
