Art Space G41 occupies a unit in Shawlands Arcade as a community ceramics studio, founded by ceramic artist Edden Wallace and run as a Community Interest Company rather than a private business. Profits from ticketed sessions, which range from pottery painting to wheel-throwing tuition, are reinvested in paying the local teachers and artists who deliver them and in community projects around Shawlands. The programme extends beyond standard pottery to handbuilding workshops, postnatal pottery, mindfulness ceramics sessions and partnerships with veterans' groups, alongside a small shop selling work made on site. Classes run most days, with the studio open Wednesday to Saturday and later on Thursdays for evening sessions. Private events and gift vouchers are also bookable. The studio positions itself around wellbeing as much as craft, describing pottery as a tool for building confidence and community connection in the Southside.
