The Brazen Head occupies 1-3 Cathcart Road in the Gorbals, a corner site that has held a licensed pub since 1851, when James McCorkindale's application was granted on appeal. The current incarnation opened in 1994, taking its name from the Dublin bar of the same title, and has operated since as a dedicated home for Irish and Celtic Football Club culture on the southside. Walls carry decades of Celtic shirts, photographs and scarves alongside Irish county colours. Traditional session music runs through the week, Guinness is poured from multiple lines, and a beer garden sits behind the bar for match days. It remains a single, family-feel bar rather than a branch of any group, run from this one Gorbals address for three decades.
