Glasgow Print Studio was founded in 1972 as an artist-led initiative giving printmakers shared access to workshop equipment they could not afford individually, and it has occupied its current home in Trongate 103 since 1988. The building holds a fine art printmaking workshop at its core, a first-floor gallery showing rotating exhibitions, a ground-floor shop selling prints alongside a framing service, and an archive documenting decades of Scottish printmaking. Members can book workshop time for etching, lithography and screenprint, and the studio runs structured courses for adult learners alongside outreach programmes. It operates as a registered Scottish charity rather than a commercial gallery, reinvesting income from sales and memberships into the workshop and its residencies. Exhibitions change roughly every two months and are free to visit. It remains one of the longest-established tenants in the Trongate 103 building.
