Aye-Aye is Glasgow's specialist art and politics bookshop — new titles, small-press books and zines you will not find in a chain — and, since 2007, the city's longest-running shop of its kind. It began life in the foyer of the CCA on Sauchiehall Street and, after losing that home, was taken in by the artist-run Broadside space in Govanhill, where it trades now. That itinerancy is part of the story: an independent bookshop that its community keeps finding a room for because the city would be poorer without it. Art, theory, politics, poetry and the printed margins — sold by people who read them.
