Ashbrook Nursery and Garden Centre was founded in 2000 by Francis Webster, a member of the Webster family long associated with Arbroath's weaving trade, on the edge of the town on the Forfar Road. The nursery is now run by Anne Webster and grows more than 2,000 plant varieties on site, from bedding and shrubs to trees for Angus gardens. A café serves home-cooked food and baking, and a woodland walk runs behind the shop and glasshouses. Staff are horticulturally trained and give planting advice tailored to the local coastal climate. The centre has won the Lord Provost's Trophy for garden design at Dundee Flower Show, along with an RHS Premium Award and a People's Choice Award. The site includes a gift shop stocking local produce and homeware alongside the plant range.
