Bala Adventure & Watersports operates from the foreshore of Llyn Tegid, the largest natural lake in Wales, and traces its start to 1986, when it ran one of the first commercial white-water rafting trips in the UK on the nearby Tryweryn river. The centre is owned and run by Mark and Sarah Lind as a family business, incorporated as Bala Adventure & Watersports Limited in 2003, and holds Adventure Activities Licensing Authority accreditation as well as RYA Training Centre status. Activities include canoeing, kayaking, sailing, windsurfing, climbing and abseiling, gorge walking, mountain biking, archery and stand-up paddleboarding, run as half-day sessions with a morning and an afternoon slot each day. Equipment and instruction are provided on site for individuals, families and groups, with bookings taken through the centre's own website or by phone, and the fullest activity range running over spring and summer.
