On Castle Street in Mauchline, the museum takes in the room where Robert Burns and his wife Jean Armour lived for a time, close to the Mossgiel Farm where he wrote much of his best-known work. Original manuscripts, personal objects and artefacts sit alongside contemporary pieces by Timorous Beasties and Calum Colvin. Admission includes Nanse Tinnocks, an alehouse Burns frequented, now holding the largest public collection of Mauchline Ware and the town's historic curling stones.
