The Catch at Fins occupies Fencefoot Farm at Fairlie, where Bernard and Jill Thain built a farm shop and smokehouse around their own fishing boat, Pegasus, before adding the restaurant. Fins Restaurant Limited has traded from the site since 2003, with Bernard and Jill Thain listed as directors throughout. Head chef Richard Finlay cooks a seasonal menu built around the day's landings and shellfish held in on-site seawater tanks, alongside meat and fish cured in the farm's own smokehouse. The adjoining farm shop sells the same smoked and fresh produce for cooking at home, and the business keeps a stall at the monthly farmers' market on site. Fencefoot Farm sits just south of Fairlie on the coast road toward Largs. Open Monday 9am to 4pm, Tuesday to Saturday 9am to 5pm, Sunday 10am to 4pm.
