Caldwells Jewellers

Caldwells Jewellers has traded from Church Street in Ballymena since 1895, when the shop was established by W.J. Caldwell. It remains in the founding family after more than four generations and is now run by Richard Caldwell, at 98-100 Church Street. The business specialises in diamond and gemstone jewellery and offers a bespoke service in which pieces are designed in-house, so customers can commission engagement rings, wedding and eternity bands and dress rings, or have older jewellery remodelled into new settings. As a long-standing independent jeweller in the town centre, it trades from a single shop rather than as a branch of a larger group. Its continuity is notable: well over a century of unbroken family ownership makes it one of the older independent retailers in the Ballymena area, and a fixture of Church Street.
