Dorset Nectar

Dorset Nectar was founded in 2006 by Oliver and Penny Strong, who planted and now run an organic cider orchard at Strong Orchard on Pineapple Lane, Waytown, near Bridport. Eleven varieties of bittersweet cider apples, including Dabinett, Porter's Perfection and Yarlington Mill, go into a range of bottled and bag-in-box ciders alongside organic apple cider vinegar, all sold from the on-site farm shop. A tasting room lets visitors work through several ciders with a guide, and the farm also offers camping pitches. The cider has picked up more than 120 awards since 2008, including three British Champion Organic Cider Cups at the Bath and West Show. Each autumn the family runs community pressing days, when neighbours bring their own garden apples to be juiced on site.
