Jon Clifford opened Dreamhouse Records on Francis Road in May 2021, having spent his career working in live music until the pandemic closed venues and gave him time to plan a shop of his own. The stock mixes new releases and reissues with secondhand vinyl sourced through Discogs, spanning folk, soul, jazz, electronic and punk rather than any single genre. A small counter at the front serves coffee and pastries by day, while Thursday evenings turn the shop into an informal listening bar with in-store performances from local musicians. Clifford designed the space to double as a meeting point for the neighbourhood's music community rather than a straightforward retail unit, and the shop also stocks turntables and hi-fi equipment from Rega.
