Fareham Wine Cellar has traded from the same Georgian-conservation-area shopfront on Fareham High Street since 1991, run as the retail arm of Peake Wine Associates. Rather than stocking a bit of everything, the shop builds its list around producers it can vouch for directly, many of them small, family-owned operations chosen for character over recognisable labels. Alongside retail sales it works as a wholesaler and importer, supplying wine to local restaurants and hospitality venues as well as running tastings and corporate orders. Hampshire's own vineyards feature on the shelves alongside imported wines and spirits, reflecting a county that has become a serious wine-producing region in its own right. The shop's staff lean on relationships built with growers and importers since 1991 when making recommendations, rather than working from a supplier's sell sheet.
