Forth BoatTours

Founded in 2006 by Donald Dewar, who also founded the Edinburgh bus operator MacTours, Forth Boat Tours runs sightseeing and wildlife cruises on the Firth of Forth from Unit 7, Port Edgar Marina, South Queensferry. Sailings depart from Hawes Pier and a dedicated Port Edgar pontoon, passing beneath the Forth Bridges and out to Inchcolm Island and its twelfth-century abbey. Trips run throughout the year and include seal- and seabird-watching cruises, with puffins visible around Inchcolm between April and July. The company describes itself as family run, with a crew whose combined maritime experience it puts at more than a century. It operates as a single business from its Port Edgar base, distinct from other Forth cruise operators sailing from Hawes Pier.
