Gloucester RoadBooks

Gloucester Road Books opened on Gloucester Road in Bishopston in April 2021, fitted into a former florist's shop after a full renovation. The stock spans fiction, non-fiction and a dedicated children's and young-adult section, with particular attention paid to titles from small independent presses rather than only mainstream imprints. A section the shop calls 'Time and Place' groups history, travel writing, geography and reportage together, encouraging browsing across categories that would normally sit on separate shelves. The booksellers rotate stock regularly so returning customers find something new rather than a static front table. The shop trades six days a week, closing on Sundays, and takes online orders for local delivery or in-store collection alongside its walk-in trade.
