Holm occupies a former bank building on the main street of South Petherton, converted into a dining room, kitchen counter and rear terrace. It was opened in November 2021 by chef Nicholas Balfe, previously behind the Brixton restaurant Salon and the south London bistro Levan, who relocated to Somerset to run the kitchen himself. The menu changes with the seasons, built around deliveries from local growers and suppliers, and is offered as a set-price chef's menu alongside à la carte and a Sunday lunch service. A quarter-acre garden behind the building supplies herbs, fruit and vegetables for the kitchen. Seven en-suite bedrooms let upstairs, available Wednesday to Saturday nights, extend the former bank into a small restaurant with rooms. The building retains original architectural features alongside contemporary raw finishes such as exposed brick and steel.
