Ilkley Brewery

Ilkley Brewery began brewing in May 2009, reviving beer-making in a town whose original 1873 brewery had closed under Bass ownership in the 1920s. Its flagship Mary Jane pale ale, first brewed months after the company started, remains the best-known beer in a range now sold across the UK and into Europe. The brewery went into administration in 2025 before local businessman Graham Smith bought it, keeping all eleven staff and running it as a standalone business rather than folding it into a larger group. The Ilkley Tap, its taproom at 60 The Grove Promenade, opened in September 2024 with eight cask and twelve keg lines, and serves food alongside the beer.
