Mark Kane runs this Main Street butcher shop, trained from age sixteen by his father, who had himself trained as a master butcher at Freemans in Bushmills before opening his own counter. Mark's son Jamie is now training in turn, making this a three-generation business without a break in the line of succession. The shop cuts local beef by traditional methods into steaks, joints and mince, alongside its own sausages, burgers and meal packs, and runs a gluten-free range alongside its standard lines. Orders placed online are delivered across most of Northern Ireland for a flat £4.95 charge on orders over £30, supplementing counter trade from Bushmills and the surrounding villages. The shop keeps standard weekday and Saturday hours and closes on Sundays, in line with most independent butchers along this stretch of coast.
