Maranto's has occupied the same stretch of Lark Lane since 1983, run throughout by Steve and Ruth Maranto. The menu leans towards Sicilian-style pizza and Italian-American classics, cooked in an open kitchen visible from the front tables. Regulars are greeted by name, and the walls carry decades of photographs from the restaurant's own history rather than borrowed decor. Steve trained in catering before opening the site with Ruth, and the pair still run service most nights alongside their long-serving staff. The bar at the back pours cocktails and Italian wine to accompany the food, and the dining room extends into a covered terrace for warmer evenings. Unlike newer arrivals on the same road, Maranto's has never traded on novelty, keeping the same recipes and the same family behind the counter across four decades of service.
