Mereworth Wines makes English sparkling wine from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grown on vines around Brewers Hall Oast, a former hop oast on the Tonbridge Road converted into a working winery, bar and shop. Founder Will Boscawen and head winemaker Scott Gebbie lead tours that walk visitors from the vine rows into the winery itself, finishing with a tasting of the finished wine, and shorter winery-only tours run for those pressed for time. The oast building lets visitors drink the wine in the same room where it is pressed and bottled, rather than in a separate visitor centre. Beyond tastings, the venue runs sparkling wine masterclasses, afternoon teas among the vines and a regular Sunday jazz session, alongside private and corporate hire. West Malling station is a short taxi ride away for visitors without a car.
