The MallingJug

The Malling Jug is a micropub tucked down an alleyway off West Malling High Street, opposite Swan Street. Opened in April 2017, it occupies a single small room fitted out in traditional style, with a handful of tables and a short bar serving rotating cask ales sourced largely from Kent and neighbouring counties, alongside a rotating strong ale and more than fifty bottled craft beers. There is no music, no fruit machines, no pool table and no television, in keeping with the wider micropub movement's focus on conversation and beer. A covered, heated garden at the rear provides extra seating, and dogs are welcome throughout. The pub is open seven days a week, from midday until 9pm Sunday to Tuesday and 10pm Wednesday to Saturday, with table service to the bar.
