Built between 1891 and 1898 as the High Brooms Tavern, this pub kept its Victorian bar-back fittings, dado panelling and etched door glass through a recent refurbishment that took it out of Greene King's estate and into independent hands. It now trades as a freehouse, pouring Harvey's Sussex Best alongside Morland's Old Golden Hen and Old Speckled Hen. Two pool tables, a darts corner and a sports screen fill the side room, with karaoke and live music on some nights. A short walk from High Brooms station, the pub draws commuters, workers from the nearby industrial estate and local families, with dogs welcome throughout and a small car park at the back.
