Copper Rivet Distillery occupies Pump House No. 5 inside Chatham's historic naval dockyard, a Grade II listed building repurposed since 2016 by a family that designed and built its own stills rather than buying equipment off the shelf. Grain is sourced from Kent farms within twenty miles, and the same team mills, mashes, ferments and distils it on site, a farm-to-glass approach that runs from Dockyard Gin and Vela Vodka through to Masthouse whisky. Visitors can book gin tours, whisky-blending sessions where they mix their own take-home bottle, and cocktail masterclasses, and the on-site Pumproom restaurant looks out over the River Medway. The dockyard setting, all brick pump houses and dry docks, gives the distillery a working-industrial backdrop rather than a polished visitor centre. Production runs in small batches rather than at the scale of the county's larger commercial breweries.
