Tiny Tim's occupies a corner of The Precinct just off Rochester High Street, a short walk from Rochester Castle, and takes its name and decor from Charles Dickens's Rochester connections. The interior was hand-painted by a local artist in a Dickensian style, with period lettering and scenes covering the walls and ceiling. The family-run tearoom serves full English breakfasts, afternoon tea and cream tea alongside pots of loose-leaf tea and coffee, and keeps a private room for small functions and parties. Customers return for the pairing of proper afternoon tea service with the surrounding architecture of the old high street. Staff know regulars by name and the till still rings up orders for scones with clotted cream through the afternoon. It is one of the longer-serving tearooms on this stretch of Rochester, trading within sight of the castle walls.
