The Sovereign is a bed and breakfast run aboard a permanently moored 1930s Rhine cruiser at Medway Bridge Marina, on the river at Borstal just upstream of Rochester. The 40-metre former passenger vessel has been converted into six guest cabins over three decks, named Lilac, Yellow, Blue, Green, Bow and Harbour, with breakfast served on board. It is independently owner-run rather than a hotel group or franchise, and this floating guest house is its only location. The appeal is the setting: waking on the water within reach of Rochester's castle, cathedral and high street, with parking at the marina. It is a genuine curiosity among Kent accommodation, a working conversion rather than a themed gimmick, and suits guests after something different from a standard riverside inn or town-centre B&B. Cabins vary in size across the three decks.
