Court Farm Butchery and Country Larder trades from the working farm at Upper Halling that the Lingham family has farmed for three generations. The butchery deals in native-breed beef and lamb raised outdoors on the farm, buying and butchering whole carcasses so customers can order specific cuts rather than pre-packaged joints. The kitchen makes its own pies, pasties, sausage rolls, cold deli meats and biltong on site. The adjoining Country Larder stocks produce from other local suppliers, including cheese, flour, juice, ice cream and eggs, alongside the farm's own beef and lamb. The business won Best Butcher of the Year and a Food, Farming and Landscape award in 2014. It opens Tuesday to Sunday, closing on Mondays, with shorter hours on Sundays for local shoppers collecting Sunday roasts.
