Orsay

Orsay has traded from 2 Stevenson Street in Oban since 2005, when its owner Janet opened the shop just off George Street in the town centre. The gallery stocks work from close to 100 British designers and makers, dealing with each one directly rather than through a wholesaler, and carries handcrafted jewellery, prints, textiles, slate work and greetings cards alongside general gifts. Janet has twice been a finalist for the Scotland leg of The Great Gift Retailer of the Year, in 2009 and 2019. The shop opens Monday to Saturday and closes on Sundays. Orsay remains a single-site, owner-run business two decades after opening, distinct from the chain gift shops found along Oban's seafront.
