Gael and Francesco Boglione bought the run-down garden centre behind Petersham House in 2000 and opened it to the public in its present form in 2002, setting a restaurant among the nursery's greenhouses and gravel paths off Church Lane. The Michelin Green Star kitchen serves produce-led, Italian-inflected food built around vegetables and herbs grown close to the tables, under glass roofs hung with foliage and vines. A shop beside the restaurant sells homeware, antiques and plants sourced by the Boglione family. Sister restaurants the family ran in Covent Garden, The Petersham and La Goccia, closed in February 2025, leaving this Richmond site as Petersham Nurseries' only trading address. The nursery closes on Mondays except bank holidays; the restaurant serves lunch Tuesday to Sunday and dinner Thursday to Saturday.
