David Le Masurier started Pettigrew as a single bakery in Cardiff in 2015 and has built it into one of the city's best — proper long-fermented bread, pastries and cakes made by hand, sold from a handful of Cardiff shops and the weekend markets. It was named Craft Bakery Business of the Year at the 2024 Baking Industry Awards, and turns up on national best-bakery lists without losing its local footing. The flagship is in Victoria Park, out along Cowbridge Road in Canton. A bakery that has grown by getting the basics consistently right rather than chasing fashion.
