Ayesha Kalaji — Great British Menu contestant for Wales, and the Trencherman's Awards' best chef in 2025 — opened Queen of Cups with Mary-Elizabeth O'Neill in the summer of 2021, in a seventeenth-century former coaching inn on Northload Street. The cooking crosses her Middle Eastern heritage with West Country supply in small plates and the Queen's Feast tasting menu, and the recognition has stacked quickly: two AA rosettes in April 2025, a Michelin Bib Gourmand carried into the 2026 guide, and a fifth birthday marked the same year. Closed Tuesdays; Sundays bring lunch and a blues jam.
