Roger Wilkins makes cider at Land's End Farm in Mudgley, in the same barn his grandfather used after buying the property in 1917. The cider is served straight from wooden barrels against the barn wall, dry or sweet, priced on a pay-as-you-feel basis rather than a fixed till. Apples come from the farm's own orchards and are pressed and left to age for a minimum of four months, often eighteen months to two years, before a barrel is tapped for sale. Wilkins learned the process as a child from his grandfather and has kept the same methods since, including no filtering and no added yeast. A Banksy piece painted on the barn wall hangs above the barrels. Cheddar, Stilton and fresh vegetables from neighbouring farms are sold alongside the cider, and orders are taken by phone.
