CAMRA rates the interior three stars on the national inventory — outstanding national historic importance — and the beer arrives by gravity straight from the cask, the 1870s handpumps long since retired to decoration; the Good Beer Guide has listed the house for over forty consecutive years, which may be the quietest record in English pub-keeping.
