A Victorian coach house in Cliftonville was converted into the Tom Thumb Theatre in 1984, becoming one of the smallest working theatres in the country with around 45 seats. The venue changed hands several times over the following decades and was reconstituted as a Community Interest Company in March 2025, with producer and director Allyson Morgan-Jones taking on its day-to-day running. The programme mixes plays, stand-up comedy, cabaret, live music and film screenings, alongside private hire for weddings and film shoots. Its scale remains the draw: one of the smallest purpose-built theatres anywhere in the country.
