The Scarecrow Barand Grill

Bar and grill on Main Street in Kilsyth, independently owned by the same family since 1981, when they took over four separate buildings on the corner and worked them into one. Part of the site had been a bike shop, and a vintage bicycle hangs in the grill to mark it. The kitchen names its suppliers: beef for the steak pie from Cross Butchers next door, haddock for the fish and chips from the Aberdeen Fish Shop. It took Best Gastro Pub at the Food Awards Scotland in 2019 and again in 2021.
