The Bully Inn is the only pub in Quarter, a small village south of Hamilton, and trades independently rather than through a national pub company. Chef Stefan, previously of Café Gandolfi in Glasgow, runs the kitchen and sources meat from Buchanan & Son of Burnbank, vegetables from McGuire's of Strathaven and fish from J Vallance at Glasgow's fish market rather than one central supplier. The pub was originally known as the Bellerophon Inn before its name shortened over time to the Bully Inn used today. A Tuesday folk club and Sunday open-mike session give it a regular music calendar alongside quiz and theme nights. The building anchors the small community, doubling as the meeting point for a village with no other pub. It operates as a single, family-run country pub rather than part of a larger group.
