Tissington Nursery

Tissington Nursery operates from the walled Old Kitchen Gardens on the Tissington Estate, held by the Fitzherbert family for several centuries, using two Victorian Foster & Pearson glasshouses along with the original boiler house and potting shed. The family-run nursery has traded for about twenty years, specialising in hardy perennials, including a wide range of hardy geraniums, salvias and violas, alongside herbs and vegetable and flower seed. It has grown peat-free across its stock since 2017 and has picked up more than a dozen RHS medals since then, including gold at RHS Hampton Court and RHS Tatton in 2023. Alongside plants, the nursery sells gardeners' gifts, sundries and greetings cards from the glasshouse buildings. It is open seven days a week and sits a short walk from Tissington Hall and the estate's cottages, near the northern end of the Tissington Trail cycling and walking route. The nursery trades independently of the wider estate's letting and events businesses.
