Troutmark Books

Troutmark is Cardiff's great second-hand bookshop, spread over three floors of Castle Arcade in the city centre — general stock, first editions, comics and the genuinely rare, packed in and priced to move. It is the kind of shop that rewards an afternoon: you go in for nothing in particular and come out with an armful, having lost track of the time on a floor you did not know was there. In a run of Victorian arcades that Cardiff has kept better than most cities, Troutmark is one of the reasons to walk them. A proper second-hand bookshop, which is a civic asset as much as a business.
