Paul and Colin opened Uncommon Life on Henderson Street in Bridge of Allan, curating homewares, bath and body products, stationery, clothing and books around a Scandinavian design sensibility with what they describe as a Scottish heart. Stock comes from Danish and international design houses as well as Scottish and UK makers, chosen with an eye toward minimal environmental impact rather than high turnover. The shop also carries jewellery, artwork, pantry goods and eco-friendly cleaning products, spread across a single Victorian spa-town storefront. There is no delivery option; everything is sold in store or held for click and collect. The pair built the shop's range around pieces they wanted to own themselves rather than following a single supplier's catalogue, giving the stock a personal, frequently changing edit.
