Surveyed
Built in 1733 as a coaching inn, the Settle Inn stands on St Mary's Wynd below Stirling Castle and is generally reckoned to be the oldest pub in the city. The low-ceilinged bar keeps a vaulted stone room at the back, and a Wednesday night session brings local musicians together for traditional Scottish folk tunes. Regulars come mainly for cask ales and whisky, since no kitchen operates on the premises.
