Winstone's Bookshop

Winstone's opened on Cheap Street in Sherborne in 2012, founded by Wayne Winstone, and keeps roughly 9,000 titles on the shelves with next-day ordering reaching a further 500,000 through the trade. A small cafe counter serves coffee, tea and hot chocolate, giving browsers somewhere to sit before deciding. The shop has won Independent Bookshop of the Year at the British Book Awards, recognition for a single-site business run from the same Cheap Street premises rather than part of a wider group. On the third Sunday of the month from March to December it opens for Sherborne's market Sundays, an exception to its usual Monday-to-Saturday hours.
