Abode Café

Abode Café opened on Ballyclare's Main Street in July 2023, run by William Newell and his family in a space that mixes modern fittings with a deliberately cosy feel. The menu runs to coffee, breakfast and lunch, and the banana toast has become the dish regulars mention first when describing the place to newcomers. The local council's economic development team counts more than eighty percent of businesses on Ballyclare's town centre as small or independent, and Abode is one of the newer entries in that mix rather than a long-standing fixture. Food hygiene inspection records show it remains active and trading as of late 2025. Seating is arranged for people settling in with a coffee and a laptop as much as for a quick takeaway, and the room stays busiest through the morning rush before lunch service takes over.
