A free house on Plaistow High Street, rebuilt in 1742 on the site of an earlier coaching inn. Tom Friel has run it since 1986. Six handpumps usually carry Courage Best, Sharp's and Mighty Oak alongside guest ales, and the old cobbled stable yard behind the bar has been converted into a function room for hire.
