Rosetta Arts grew from a single classroom at Rosetta Primary School in Canning Town, where university lecturer Yvonne Humble began running art sessions for local people and artists before the project expanded into its own building on Hamilton Road, Stratford. The centre now houses a dedicated pottery studio alongside darkroom, printmaking and painting spaces, and runs a five-week wheel-throwing course covering the basics of centring, pulling and glazing clay on the wheel. Courses also cover cyanotype printing, mosaic-making and oil painting, with reduced fees available for people on low incomes or certain benefits. Registered as a charitable incorporated organisation, Rosetta Arts describes its purpose as building community through creativity, serving a part of Newham that has historically had limited access to arts education. Evening and weekend scheduling lets working adults attend alongside the centre's programmes for children and young people.
