Bluebird Lodge

Bluebird Lodge is a small bed and breakfast in a stone-built former farmhouse at Waterhead, on the northern shore of Coniston Water, with views across to the Old Man of Coniston. Michael and Tracy left careers in primary teaching in 2018 to run the guest house, which has five ground-floor en-suite bedrooms plus two self-catering apartments upstairs for larger groups. Breakfast is cooked to order in a room that looks out over the lake and fell. The lodge sits within walking distance of the village and the Coniston launch jetties, with parking and outdoor seating for guests. It operates as a single, owner-run guest house rather than part of any hotel group, with Michael and Tracy handling the day-to-day running themselves.
