Rhuaridh Buchanan, a Scottish affineur who trained at Paxton & Whitfield, opened his own cheesemonger in Connaught Village, near Bayswater, in 2014 — a small, serious shop that matures its cheese on-site in its own rooms rather than just selling it on. It supplies restaurants alongside the shop, but stays a single owner-led counter, not a chain. A proper affineur's shop, where the cheese is looked after until it is exactly right. Ask what has come into condition; that is the whole point of a place like this.
