Driffold Gallery occupies the whole of The Smithy, a Grade II listed building on Birmingham Road adjacent to Sutton Coldfield town centre. David Gilbert opened the gallery in 1983 and remains its director, dealing in Victorian, Impressionist and modern paintings alongside wildlife art. Stock runs to more than three hundred original works at any time, changing continually as pieces sell and new consignments arrive, with prices spanning three, four and five figures. The gallery offers valuations, restoration advice and a bespoke framing service alongside sales. It opens from ten until six on weekdays, and for a shorter session on most Sunday afternoons. There is no café or workshop attached; browsing is the point, with staff on hand to talk through individual pictures rather than push a sale.
