Gallery East

Susie Turner founded Gallery East on Church Street in Woodbridge in March 2019, and now runs it with partner Cathy Doll. The programme favours painters, sculptors and ceramicists with a connection to East Anglia, with a particular emphasis on showing work by women artists alongside better-known names. Exhibitions change every few weeks, curated around a theme rather than a single artist, and the gallery keeps a changing selection of smaller pieces on the back wall for buyers working with a modest budget. The building is a five-minute walk from Woodbridge station, and Turner describes the gallery as part of a wider cluster of independent creative businesses that has grown up around the town's Church Street and Market Hill in recent years. Viewings outside normal hours can be arranged directly with the gallery by appointment.
