The Hurtwood Inn occupies an elegant building put up in 1920 on Walking Bottom in Peaslake, among the sandy tracks and pine woods of the Surrey Hills. A family took over the inn in 2019 and has run it since as a bar, restaurant and hotel, offering fifteen individually furnished bedrooms plus a separate two-bedroom holiday cottage. Two of the rooms come with their own spa baths. The kitchen serves home-cooked English and Italian food alongside local craft beers and world wines, with service running from mid-morning through the evening most days of the week. Two function rooms host conferences and private events. The inn sits twenty-eight miles from London and eighteen from Gatwick, within the Hurtwood itself, the wooded common that gives the pub its name.
