Ken Dudley opened The Rock Box in Camberley in March 1987, after several years running a record stall in Aldershot market and then his own shop, Ken's Records, on Aldershot's Station Road from 1979. The Camberley shop, now at 34 Obelisk Way in the Square shopping centre, started out as a specialist in rock, metal and alternative music and has since broadened into a full-genre stock of new and second-hand vinyl, CDs, cassettes and DVDs, alongside turntables, accessories and band merchandise. Staff pride themselves on tracking down rare pressings and back-catalogue releases for customers who cannot find them elsewhere. The shop is open Monday to Saturday from 9am to 5pm and Sunday from 10am to 4pm. Four decades after Dudley's start in the music trade, the Camberley shop remains associated with his name locally.
