Manifold Station Cycle Hire and Cafe occupies the former terminus building of the Leek and Manifold Valley Light Railway, a narrow-gauge line that closed in 1934 and was later converted into the Manifold Way footpath and cycle trail. The single-site business combines a café, serving breakfast baps, cake and coffee from 9am to 3pm through the main season, with a cycle hire counter offering bikes for the eight-and-a-half-mile traffic-free route towards Hulme End. It stands at the Old Station Car Park on Earlsway in Waterhouses, at the southern end of the Manifold Track, which follows the River Hamps and River Manifold through limestone scenery below Thor's Cave. The building retains features of its railway origins and serves as the main departure point for cyclists exploring the valley.
